Who we are
The alumni giving back
to where it started.
SEBS North America is the community of Budhanilkantha School alumni and friends across the continent — turning distance into e‑libraries, scholarships, and opportunity in Nepal since 2000.
Our mission
Society of Ex‑Budhanilkantha Students — North America
Formed in July 2000, we are the alumni and friends of Budhanilkantha School in Kathmandu, Nepal, now living across North America. Recognized by the IRS under section 501(c)(3) as a tax‑exempt organization, we’re a volunteer‑run group dedicated to supporting our members, delivering social‑service programs in Nepal and North America, and helping our alma mater meet its educational goals.
The organization is governed by an elected Executive Committee that meets every month, and we come together each year at an Annual Reunion to renew friendships and shape what comes next.
Our aim
As students we share a lifelong bond with our Alma Mater. We were the focus of her goals; as alumni, we carry her mission into the world. Because we are the emerging essence of our institution, we strive to strengthen the bond between student and alumni — fostering unity among the brothers and sisters of Budhanilkantha School, and disseminating our proud heritage for the benefit of society.
What we do
Bringing libraries where the internet can’t reach
Since 2019, in partnership with Open Learning Exchange (OLE), SEBS North America has set up offline digital libraries in eight public schools across Nepal — installing devices and local servers so students can reach course books and educational videos even without internet access.

Schools supported since 2019: Raluka Secondary & Dupcheshwor Sec. School (Nuwakot), Sharada Sec. School (Bhojpur), Rastriya Sec. School (Nawalparasi), Laxmi Sec. School (Chitwan), Sitaladevi Sec. School (Sindhupalchowk, with Teach for Nepal), Shree Janakalya Sec. School (Makwanpur), and Pyang Secondary School (Illam).

Beyond the classroom
More than libraries
We donated books and stationery to the children of Adarsha Griha, a safe house in Lankhu, Chitwan, and funded scholarships for two students at Bhagwati Secondary School in Doti. SEBS‑NA is always looking for the next opportunity to lend a hand.
Leadership
Run by alumni volunteers
An elected Executive Committee and its advisors steer the organization — meeting monthly to keep our programs moving and our promises to students in Nepal.

Every gift and every volunteer hour reaches a student back home.
